What is proofreading?
In the publisher’s typeset proofs:

Detecting and correcting all errors of spelling and other typographical
errors

Checking and correcting the punctuation if necessary
-
Drawing attention to any grammatical errors or possible errors of fact
-
Ensuring that typographical specifications and other instructions have
been followed
